Happy New Year! Upcoming Metal Releases for January 2015

Napalm DeathAh, the New Year's celebration. No doubt you will come up with an ingenius plan to get yourself either incredibly wasted on booze/pot in some sort of social setting, or incredibly wasted on food and Netflix (or just the usual horrid cable coverage of an electronic ball symbolizing this country's fascination with materialism drop from a very tall metal pole in the crowded hell they call New York's Times Square).

Fortunately for us all, whether you end up nursing a nightmarish hangover (or bangover), sitting on a toilet wishing you hadn't eaten so much, or simply already regretting your well-meant but ill-thought New Year's resolutions, chances are there is at least one album coming out this month from a metal band worthy of a few January jam sessions.

As you may know, Armageddon and Sodom are gearing up to play Maryland Deathfest this coming May 2015, so if this albums are good, you'll get to experience them live around that time. For more details on MDF, including the complete list of bands set to play and a stage schedule, check out the local metal calendar.

Who knew that Marilyn Manson was still in the game? I sure didn't.

Aside from that, it looks like Napalm Death's new release will be one worth the grabbing, as well as Lord Dying's forthcoming work.

Personally, I'm not sure that Papa Roach really counts as rock anymore, but whatevs.

If there weren't too many bands you crave on this list, keep it here when February rolls around because you can expect to be seeing new albums from Marduk, Exhumed, The Agonist, Ensiferum, Carach Angren, Pelican, and even Kid Rock throughout next month.

I'll post that list when it gets closer to the Valentine season. For now, enjoy your Yule/Christmas/Hannukah/Kwanzaa/Festivus festivities and best wishes for a very, very metal New Year from yours truly.

Let's make 2015 our f%#&ing year!! \m/
