Naturally, I'm the most excited about Epica's new album because I fucking love them. I may have already mentioned this, but Simone Simons was one of the first people who inspired me to explore the operatic route, and I taught myself how to properly sing Soprano mainly by listening to and mimicking her voice until I could recreate the notes and sounds as perfectly as possible. Therefore I can safely say that Simone (as well as Tarja Turunen, Floor Jansen, Charlotte Wessels, Cristina Scabbia and even Roy Khan of Kamelot) taught me how to sing. Thanks, ladies (and gent)! You were all awesome teachers!

I digress... Hour of Penance is a good one as well, mainly (in my worthless opinion) because of the theme they chose to write the album around. I love me some sovereign themes. The music is face-melting to boot.

Then you have Dio, which really requires no explanation at all. It's fucking DIO.

The bearded man and myself are both pretty fucking stoked for Killer Be Killed's debut album, which as you may know is a fucking supergroup featuring The Dillinger Escape Plan vocalist Greg Puciato, Soulfly/ex-Sepultura frontman Max Cavalera, Mastodon bassist and co-vocalist Troy Sanders and former The Mars Volta drummer Dave Elitch. If you haven't heard the first two songs they debuted a short while back, do yourself a favor and listen to them right now:

And let's not forget about the mighty Agalloch with their new release, "The Serpent and The Sphere", which we happen to have a review for if you'd like to try-before-you-buy. I'd just buy it though, if I were you... though it is a good review.

Wanna know when you're favorite band is releasing something? This is a list of every single release scheduled from now til year's end, you'll find it here.

Enjoy your fresh, tasty riffs! There's something for everyone! Have a metal weekend \m/
