The restaurant, located in Tenleytown, has been having shows there for more than two years and abruptly decided upon gaining new management that they "don't want the shows to continue".

Brother Firetribe (featuring Nightwish guitarist Emppu Vuorinen) Video "For Better Or For Worse", Third Album Due Out in June

BROTHER FIRETRIBEI literally had no idea this band existed before today, but I wish I had heard of them sooner! Billed as "chock-full of melodic rock ear candy" with "glistening choruses, heavenly harmonies and lyrics brimming with larger-than-life love", pretty much how the fuck doesn't everyone know about this?

Old Lady Jams to Tasty Metal Riffs

Man or woman, young or old, meek or monstrous, I think we can all agree... good music is good music, right? This lady knows what's up.

Justice, Backwards

This is a bit of a departure from metal, but I am compelled to write it beyond anything describable.

Recently, this story was in the news about a woman who accidentally hit a few children riding their bikes at night in her car. One of the children perished, another suffered many breaks (among them a broken pelvis, to whom I say 'Kid, I feel your pain, I am so very sorry for the long recovery ahead of you') and other injuries, while the third managed to walk away relatively unscathed.

Aborted Streams New Album "The Necrotic Manifesto", Due Out April 29th

Clutch Frontman May Be "Unable To Sing Again"

Neil Fallon of CLUTCHLast September, the band Clutch put their tour on hold due to health problems that required surgery for the band's frontman, Neil Fallon. Here's what he said to Get Your Rock Out about the surgery:

Arch Enemy Premiers "As The Pages Burn" Lyric Video

Here you are, Arch Enemy's new lyric video for "As The Pages Burn", which I must warn you sounds absolutely nothing like Arch Enemy so keep an open mind (at least for the first two minutes):

Okay, my opinion if you care to hear it... The lyrics really rub me the wrong way. Don't ask me why, because all I can think of is that they're just really generic sounding, like there was not too much thought put into them. As a writer and vocalist who writes lyrics, this bothers me like a messy house bothers a neat freak.

Death Metal Underground Website Doesn't Want You Supporting Your Scene

A friend posted this article earlier from the website Death Metal Underground, and as tired as I am I simply have to waste breath in retort to this piece.

In the article, the author claims that following the rise of death and black metal, a "cry rang out" for others to "support the scene". He goes on to say:

Lzzy Hale Collaborates With Lindsey Stirling

Yeah, I know it's not metal, but we all listen to non-metal sometimes. Also I fucking love Lindsey Stirling and Lzzy Hale so this is getting a mention - and a well deserved one, at that. I think you'll agree, even if just on Lzzy's awesome vocals and Lindsey's incredible skill at commanding a violin.

Widow of Paul Gray from Slipknot Claims Bandmates Did Not "Offer To Help" Him

The doctor of deceased former bassist Paul Gray was charged two years ago with involuntary manslaughter in connection with the deaths of nine patients (including Gray) who died from overdoses after being prescribed narcotics.

The trial is going on now, and yesterday Brenna Gray took the stand claiming that she tried to alert her husband's doctor and stage an intervention. She also claims that even though she had reached out to his bandmates Corey Taylor and Shawn Crahan in regards to his addiction, they refused to become involved. "Nobody else cared, nobody was involved. They told me it was my problem." And then days later, Gray was found dead in his hotel room.

Hard Times For Musicians

It's rough out there for musicians... but I can't say it's just a sign of the times. Those who contribute creatively have long been subjected to hardship and under-appreciation. Remember Mozart?

Recently, drummer Daniel Liljekvist from the incredible and transcendent doom metal band Katatonia became another example of how unbelievably talented musicians are being left out in the cold thanks to not only the music industry, but also due to how musicians and music are being generally perceived. He released this statement regarding his departure:

Confidence vs. Conceit

Okay, so I've been wondering about something and want to know the general consensus on this topic.

Today, this video was posted on MetalSucks.net. Within the span of the 5 minute video, The frontman of Ghost articulates how devoted his fans are, and how he is worshipped by them "like Christians revere the Pope" (I'm paraphrasing here). He also goes on to show himself with two "groupies" that he takes with him essentially to party and fuck all night long.

Deftones Release A Song From Previously Shelved Album, Eros

The song is entitled Smile, and it was released on the anniversary of their then-bassist Chi Cheng suffering a terrible car accident. Eros was Cheng's final project with Chino, and was left unfinished after the tragic wreck. The remaining members, understandably, set it aside for the moment, and ever since fans have been begging for the release of the few finished tracks.

Mastodon's Upcoming Album "Once More Around The Sun" Not A Concept Record

MASTODONMy guy loves Mastodon. They're one of his favorite bands. This June they'll be releasing an album called Once More Around The Sun.

Gender Roles And Why They Will Always Exist

Jennifer Garner, SUPERMOMWhen the baby is asleep and I find myself listless and not willing to do anything truly productive, as I often do, I skim through the news and go wherever it happens to take me - which is sometimes into celebrity tabloid-esque articles on shitty places like HuffPost.

Pregnancy or Probation? Cannabis and OB Drug Screens

Pregnancy or Probation?I've seen this picture a few times now, and while I agree that expectant mothers should be tested for things like cocaine, heroin, meth, what have you, but this pisses me off at the same time. Why? Because even if they only find marijuana in your system, they'll treat you the same as if they found out you were shooting up and behave as though you are some child-endangering criminal.

C'est La Vie

Alright, a quick update on the blog first and foremost: To all the people who have liked, contributed, shared, or otherwise supported this page, please accept my most heartfelt thanks from the deep, dark chasms of my black and hardened soul. This blog is for you, all the content I research and post is for you, and you are the reason we have not only some of the most talented musicians and artists in the world, but we also have the most amazing and awesome people in one place. I appreciate every one of you, whether we have met in person or not.

Former Bassist of Indianapolis-Based Doom Band The Gates of Slumber Jason McCash Dies at 37

RIP Jason McCashNo death is more important or notable than any other. However, I always feel a particular relatable sadness when a musician loses their life at an age where they should have been expecting many more years of it.

Jason had left The Gates of Slumber last September, saying only that it was "just time for me to leave". Who knew his statement forebodingly encompassed more than just his departure from the band.

"Enjoy Every Moment"

I know everyone tells you to "enjoy every moment" of motherhood.. but I seriously cannot wait until this kid can sit up on his own, hold his own bottle, and crawl to what he wants. This middle stage of having complex wants and needs and not being mobile enough to do anything about them really fucking sucks.

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month

I wasn't aware of this before somewhat somewhat recently, but April has been nationally dubbed "Sexual Assault Awareness Month". So, what is sexual assault, exactly? It is everything up to and including rape and sodomy; unwanted advances, touching in a sexual way without consent, any violence used to force sexual contact. That pretty much sums it up.
